Our Story

Ewing Covenant Presbyterian Church is a vibrant community with deep roots in Ewing, New Jersey, built on a legacy of faith, service, and inclusion. The church was formed through the uniting of two historic congregations—Ewing Presbyterian Church and Covenant Presbyterian Church—each with its own rich history of faithful witness to reformed Christianity.

Ewing Presbyterian Church, established in 1709, is one of the oldest congregations in the country, long known for its dedication to education, social justice, and mission work. Covenant Presbyterian Church, founded in 1947 from the merger of Third and Fifth Presbyterian Churches (as well as Mt. Carmel one year later), became a beacon of spiritual support and community engagement at its original home on Parkside Avenue.

Together as Ewing Covenant, we carry forward this long-standing tradition of faithfulness, inclusion, and commitment to justice. As we continue to grow, welcoming new members and visitors into our congregation every Sunday, we are excited to share our journey and extend our welcome to all who seek a spiritual home.

  • My favorite food is chocolate. My favorite word is "liminal." I’m passionate about Ecclesiastes, good preaching, building community, and lately, Chappell Roan.

More than anything else, I treasure the opportunity to journey alongside church folks, asking big questions of one another, and discovering hints of God’s presence in life together.

I’m known for having many favorite things, and I never get tired of talking about them. It probably stems from my evangelical roots, growing up in a small town in East Tennessee, where food, home, and faith are central.

As pastor of Ewing Covenant, I would be delighted to welcome you, help you find your place in this congregation and maybe, even, hear about a few of your favorite things!

  • As the Director of Music at Ewing Covenant Presbyterian Church, I have the privilege of leading our choir, bell choir, and all aspects of music in worship. A graduate of Westminster Choir College, I bring a deep love for sacred music and a commitment to enhancing our worship experience through song. Whether conducting the choirs or planning our musical offerings, I strive to create meaningful and inspiring music that uplifts our congregation.

  • As the Director of Care and Outreach, I organize outreach initiatives increasing our congregation’s visibility around town, build frameworks to foster a community of care & mutual support for congregants, help to coordinate our communication (bulletin, newsletter, social media), and do some preaching to add a little variety on Sunday mornings.

In addition to my role at Ewing Covenant, I am also the Presbyterian campus ministry fellow at The College of New Jersey leading UKirk Ewing. And in service of the wider church, I serve on our denomination’s national committee on LGBTQ advocacy and equity.

I am a graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary and Marshall University. I enjoy watching 1990s Star Trek, playing the card game UNO!, and listening to hyperpop artists like SOPHIE, Kim Petras, Charli XCX, and Arca.
